See the mechanisms that connect GFICC and GMC authorities with Bhutan's national AML/CFT/CPF framework. This page is for government agencies, competent authorities, relevant persons and stakeholders seeking clarity on policy, technical and operational coordination.
Coordination Overview
GMC participates in Bhutan's national arrangements through the National Coordination Committee (NCC) and Technical Coordination Committee (TCC). A GMC-level working committee provides operational coordination.
Together, these mechanisms support cooperation, information sharing, policy alignment, risk assessment, implementation of international standards and mutual evaluation preparation while respecting each authority's mandate.
National Coordination Committee (NCC)
The National Coordination Committee (NCC) is Bhutan’s senior-level mechanism for national AML/CFT/CPF policy coordination and oversight. Representation from Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) provides a formal link between GMC’s regulatory framework and Bhutan’s national AML/CFT/CPF regime, supporting:
- National policy coordination: Align AML/CFT/CPF strategies and facilitate coordination between national and GMC authorities.
- National risk assessments: Contribute to identifying, assessing and understanding ML/TF/PF risks across the national and GMC frameworks.
- Framework effectiveness: Review the effectiveness of national AML/CFT/CPF measures and identify areas requiring enhanced coordination or improvement.
